How to make a Christmas Wreath

How to make a Christmas Wreath

If you couldn’t make it to one of my Christmas wreath workshops at One Garden in Brighton, then here’s how to make your own Christmas Wreath from the comfort of your own home.

How to make a Christmas Wreath Step 1: Ingredient gathering

How to make a Christmas Wreath. You’ll need a mossed base ring, foliage, and flexible wire to get started. Cut all your foliage pieces down to no longer than 20cm – lay them on your wreath to test out if they are too big or stick out too far.

Step 2: Attach your wire to the base frame

The copper frame will be on the back of your mossed wreath ring.

wrap your wire around the copper frame so it is secure – don’t cut the wire until the end of making the base.

Step 3 – Make a foliage bundle

Use your different foliages to create a little bunch, use the photo below to help you.

Step 4: Lay your bundle on the wreath base

wrap the wire around the stems very tightly, 2-3 times.

wrap the wire around the stems 2-3 times as tightly as you can

Step 5: Adding more bundles

Make another bundle and lay it so that the top of the bundle covers the stems + wire of the last bunch, then repeat wrapping your wire around the stems tightly. Bundles must all face the same way.

Add the next bundle and secure.

Step 6: Finishing the base

Continue adding bundles all the way round the ring until your whole wreath base is finished. All bundles must face the same way. When the whole base is covered, cut the wire and wrap the end of it around the copper frame – like you did at the start to secure it.

Put wires around each decoration and then feed the wires into the wreath and twist to secure.
