Influence from the catwalk

The older I get the more solidified I get in my thinking that absolutely everything we see, feel + like comes from a small handful of designers of Haute Couture. Even if you try to avoid ‘FASH-UN’ you just can’t because it filters down into absolutely everything we see and shapes our aesthetic loves, without us even knowing, like a well-dressed mind-jedi.

If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em so let’s embrace what the fashion big dawgs are telling us we must love next.

Green Everything

OH hiiii there Gucci, thanks for instructing us on what we should like next and it’s ALLLLLL green. The Gucci show was stunning because it used the age old trick of juxtaposing the brutalist Tate modern cement interior against soft green clouds of greenery.

We’re already seeing this filter down into weddings and events. Tables with sharp lines and geometricity, then finished with soft floaty green moss and grasses and flowers en masse.

2024 Latest wedding trends: Flower + Fruit + Veg

If you think about it flowers are really just non-edible fruit and veg (nooooooo Hannah, SCREAM the biologists). They make a natural pairing and fruit really does come in some amazing colours and easily builds like a sculpture.

We started seeing grapefruits and oranges cut up on event tables a few years ago but NOW we’re levelling up – plantains, dragon fruit, grapes en masse, shiny green apples, fancy pants mushrooms, clouds of broccoli + cauliflower. Sometimes the idea sounds INSANE but then the sculpture looks worthy of an art gallery.

While writing about the 2024 latest wedding trends I really have just thought of the term broccoli cloud while typing this and now i’m hyper fixated on it and off to buy 10 broccolis. This idea MUST be realised.

Was looking for an image to insert here and found @bellathomas casually posing with a cauliflower. I rest my case.

The veil cost more than the dress

Not flower related but I wish I could get married again and do this. I’d buy a super simple plain white dress and a veil from @maisonchamberlain_ (see below)

The dress is no longer the main event guys, it’s time for the veil to step up into the spotlight in the 2024 Latest wedding trends.

I am borderline unhealthily obsessed by a designer called @maisonchamberlain_. She makes veils from the gods and I might have to get one and just wear it for everyday life. They are insanely creative and beautiful and really f*ing cool. I comment on all her posts, i’m a huge fangirl.

2024 Latest wedding trends: Black Accents

So chic and so sophisticated darling and SO FASHION. It adds an extra dimension to your flowers and ties together an aesthetic perfectly. I once did a wedding where I painstakingly painted all of the rose stems black mirroring the details in the menus, napkins and candles. The look was instantly elevated to COCO Chanel level.
